Var Type

Var Type is used to include stars of selected variable types in the search. You must uncheck Ignore to select variable types. If Ignore is checked, variable type is disregarded when searching for stellar objects to include in the report.

You may select up to 99 types in the list. Press the different variable type group buttons to select all types associated with the group, or Clear All to deselect all types. Variable types appear in a multi-selection list box so you can use the standard Windows shift-click and ctrl-click techniques to select multiple types.

The variable type group buttons select types as described below:

If the variable type for an object is missing in a catalog that has these values, it is left blank in the report. If you specify any variable types for the search, by default, all objects with missing values are excluded. To include these objects in the report, check Include missing types.

What about?

The Var Type tab is disabled for catalogs that do not contain variable type data.
