PA (Position Angle)

PA

PA (Position Angle) is used to specify the smallest and largest position angles in degrees, inclusively, to be included in the search. The largest position angle varies by catalog; a range of values for the selected catalog(s) is displayed in integer degrees.

You must uncheck Ignore to enter values into the Smallest or Largest boxes. If 0 is entered for Smallest, the search includes all objects smaller than Largest. If 0 is entered for Largest, the search includes all objects larger than Smallest. For example, if you want to search all objects with position angles greater than 270 degrees, you could enter 270 in Smallest and leave 0 in Largest. If 0 is entered in both, or if Ignore is checked, all position angles are included in the search. If a position angle is entered that is too large, it is changed to the largest PA for the selected catalog(s).

If the position angle for an object is missing in a catalog that has these values, it is left blank in the report. If you specify a range of position angles for the search, by default, all objects with missing values are excluded. To include these objects in the report, check Include missing position angles.

What about?

The PA tab is disabled for catalogs that do not contain position angle data.
