Printing Documents

All types of Deep-Sky Planner's documents can be printed to any local or network printer available to your system. There are several ways to print a document:

In Deep-Sky Planner, open a document and do the search or calculation, then:

select Print from the File menu

click the Print button printon the tool bar

right-click the document in the Windows Explorer and select Print from the context menu (see Windows Integration)

drag and drop a document from Windows Explorer or the Windows desktop onto a system printer icon (see Windows Integration)

Note that at least one printer must be available to your system before you can attempt to print a document or preview a document printout.

What about?

If the text in your printout runs together in adjacent columns, you can enlarge the columns (see Working with Reports.)

If the text extends beyond the width of the page you can

change the page orientation to Landscape (see Preferences | Printing, File | Print)

scale the printed text to fit the width of the page (most reports - see Preferences | Printing, File | Print)

exclude or resize columns of information (see Working with Reports)

If the printout is really messed up, chances are that your printer driver is reporting bad information to Deep-Sky Planner. Please be sure that your printer driver is up to date.
