Print
The Print dialog allows you to print all or part of a document on any system printer.
To print an open document, press or select Print from the File menu or on the toolbar. If you try to print a document whose settings have been changed since its report was generated, you will be asked to calculate or search again before printing.
Enhanced Print Dialog
Enhanced Print Dialog is available for Darkness Text, Planet Ephemeris, Planet Events, Asteroid and Comet, Deep-Sky and Star, Brief Observing Log and Observing Plan reports. It allows you to select a printer, the number of pages to print and the number of copies to Print. You can also change the page orientation and page scaling (Print to Fit) by pressing the Page Setup button which opens the Page Setup dialog box.
If your printout does not fit on the page, you can:
▪Print using landscape rather than portrait orientation. This can be set as the default for all print jobs in Preferences. This setting can be found on the Page tab of the Page Setup dialog box.
▪Print using 'Print to Fit' page scaling. This can be set as the default for all print jobs in Preferences. This setting can be found on the Scaling tab of the Page Setup dialog box.
▪Eliminate some columns of information or adjust the width of columns (see Working with Reports)
Press Print to begin printing, or press Cancel to exit the dialog box without printing.
Classic Print Dialog
Classic Print Dialog is used for Darkness Graphic and Detailed Observing Log reports. It allows you to select a printer, the number of pages to print and the number of copies to Print. Through the Properties button, you can change the page orientation. Page scaling (Print to Fit) is not available when using the Classic Print Dialog.
If your printout does not fit on the page, you can:
▪Print using landscape rather than portrait orientation. This can be set as the default for all print jobs in Preferences.
▪Eliminate some columns of information or adjust the width of columns (see Working with Reports)
Press OK to begin printing, or press Cancel to exit the dialog box without printing.
What about?
If you have problems with your printouts, check your printer's device driver and make sure it is up to date (printer manufacturers update drivers fairly often.) Deep-Sky Planner requests printing information directly from the printer device driver, so it must supply correct information for the printout to be correct.
