Community - Plan Library
The Deep-Sky Planner Community on the Knightware web site holds resources that you can use with Deep-Sky Planner, including the Plan Library. This Library contains observing plan documents that you can view or download and store for use with Deep-Sky Planner.
Available plans can be retrieved by the latest 10 posted or those within a category. Categories include:
▪All - all plans in the library
▪Binoculars - plans specifically designed for binocular observing
▪Books - plans that accompany popular observing books
▪Carbon Stars - plans that contain Carbon Stars
▪Deep-Sky - plans that contain Deep-Sky objects
▪Double Stars - plans that contain Double Stars
▪Magazines - plans that accompany articles in astronomy magazines
▪Organizations - plans that accompany observing lists created by organizations
▪Stars - plans that contain Stars
▪Variable Stars - plans that contain Variable Stars
▪Web Articles - plans that accompany online observing articles
The list of available plans is retrieved when the Plan Library dialog box is opened. You can also retrieve the list of plans again by clicking Refresh List of Items.
Once the list of resources is retrieved and displayed, you can choose one or more resources for downloading and viewing or storing. You can scroll through the plans, sort the list by clicking in a column heading, and resize the Plan Library dialog box.
For any plan, you can:
▪Click View in a plan's row to download and display it in a preview window.
▪Click Get in a plan's row to download and store it in your Deep-Sky Planner 9 documents folder. If you installed for Single User as recommended, this should be like C:\Users\<user account>\Documents\Deep-Sky Planner 9\Community\.
You can open these plans by using File | Open. You can save these plans to any folder and access them later using File | Open.
The Statusbar on the dialog box shows the status of your request. If it fails, an error message explaining the failure is displayed.
What about?
You can browse all resources in the Community with your web browser by using Community | Browse Community.
