Seeing Conditions
Deep-Sky Planner can display seeing conditions on the Equipment/Conditions Bar. This data can be entered manually as either a relative Seeing Descriptor, or an actual seeing measurement in arcseconds (Arcseconds). Seeing is a very important element in describing sky conditions. Deep-Sky Planner uses this seeing value to calculate whether a double star can be split. See visibility model.
Select a Seeing Descriptor to assign a value to Arcseconds. Note that the high end of the range is the value assigned. You can choose a descriptor within the Antoniadi or Pickering scales to set a value in Arcseconds.

You can change the value assigned to Arcseconds by selecting a descriptor, or you can enter an actual measurement in Arcseconds. Valid values are 0 to 60.0, but values above 4.0 indicate very poor conditions.
Show Seeing allows you to open a mini-browser to your favorite seeing information web page. A default (local) web page is displayed until you select another page in the mini-browser. The web icon indicates that a live Internet connection may be required for this function.
Press OK to accept the changes.
Press Cancel to discard the changes.
Important: Seeing conditions may change throughout an observing session. You may need to update the value periodically while you observe.
