Night Vision

Night Vision changes your video card settings and some of the screen elements used by Deep-Sky Planner. This option operates as a toggle switch.

Most video cards support changing these settings but some do not. If Night Vision is disabled on the main menu when you start Deep-Sky Planner, this indicates that your video card does not support night vision mode.

To complement night vision mode, you might select a report style that improves the appearance of reports while night vision mode is enabled. Look for the 'Nightvision' or 'Dsp Red' styles that ship with Deep-Sky Planner.

Important: Deep-Sky Planner starts in normal vision mode. Closing Deep-Sky Planner automatically returns to normal vision mode by restoring your video settings.

Additional Information

The most effective solution to maintaining dark adapted vision is to use a color filter to completely cover your computer screen. A filter can mask the color of all screen elements, prevent light leaks and protect your monitor from cold, dust and dew. A screen filter constructed from red plastic or rubylith is highly effective.
