Best Practices when activating SQM Reader Pro

This article describes what you should do if you encounter activation problems with SQM Reader Pro 3.

Best Practice:

1) Always download and apply the latest update to SQM Reader Pro. You should do this:

You can determine whether an update is available by opening Help | Check for Updates in SQM Reader Pro. (You must enter a valid Product Key during installation, or by using Help | Product Key from SQM Reader Pro, or you will not be able to download an update.)

2) Always enter your version 3 product key into SQM Reader Pro 3. Do not enter your product key from a previous version.

3) Activate the license online to avoid email issues. This will not be successful if your product key is entered in correctly - mistyped or for the wrong version.

3) If you activate by email, always request the activation code and register your activation code on the same computer. Do not request a code from one computer and install the activation code on another.

What version do I have?

You can determine which version (Build number) you have by opening the Help | About box in SQM Reader Pro. The Build number is located on the lower left of the photo.

Is my license activated?

You can also determine whether your software is activated by opening the Help | About box in SQM Reader Pro. You should see 'This product is licensed to:' on the left side of the light gray panel at the bottom of the box, or **License not activated**.

How did I install (or what users can run SQM Reader Pro)?

You can determine how the software is installed by opening the Help | About box in SQM Reader Pro. Look at the left side of the light gray panel at the bottom of the box. You should see either Installed for Single User or Installed for All Users.
