Horizon Model Import
The Import button on the Location Editor allows you to import a horizon model file in one of several formats into the Deep-Sky Planner database.
Input File allows you to select a file for importing. The browse button opens a standard Windows File Open dialog box to assist with finding the correct file path and name. Once a file is selected, the Input File Preview window displays the file's contents.
Format allows you to select the format of the input file. The correct format must be selected to produce correct results. At the time of this writing, horizon files produced by several astronomy software products may be imported. The table below shows the available formats.
Notes:
▪Azimuth and altitude are expressed in floating point or integer degrees.
▪Items enclosed in [ ] are optional.
▪<tab> means a single tab character

Horizon Model Name allows you to select a name for the horizon model that is imported. When a native Deep-Sky Planner horizon file is imported, the model name from the file is inserted here.
Import allows you to process the selected input file. The results of processing the input file are displayed in the Lower Horizon and Upper Horizon windows. Note that it is not unusual for the Upper Horizon window to be empty since most horizon files do not contain upper horizon model data.
Clear All clears all horizon model points from both the Lower Horizon and Upper Horizon windows. It also clears Model Name.
Press Save to accept the imported horizon model, or Cancel to discard it.
