Browse Community
Browse Community allows you to access online resources for licensed Deep-Sky Planner users such as observing plan files, equipment lists, and software updates. The Community is updated regularly with new resources.
You can browse the Community with a web browser, but you must provide your product key number and password to log in. Community | Browse Community within Deep-Sky Planner allows you to log into the Community directly using your default web browser. Your product key and password are automatically supplied to the Community log-in process.
Note: Your product key must be entered correctly and saved using Product Key on the Help menu before attempting to use the Community | Browse Community feature. You must also have an active Internet connection established before this function can succeed.
What about?
If you receive the message "Could not connect to server", then you have not established a connection to the Internet or your firewall software is preventing Deep-Sky Planner from connecting to the Internet. You must establish a connection before attempting this function.
If you receive the message "Error - The system cannot find the specified file", then you do not have a default web browser registered with Windows. You must have a default web browser to use this function; otherwise, you can start a web browser manually and log-in to the community web page manually.
If you receive the message "Community Log In failed", you probably have mistyped your product key. See Product Key to correct the problem.
Browse Community is disabled on the Community menu if no Product Key has been entered because the Product Key is required when logging into the web site.
